Meet Tamara Friedrich

I am Tamara Friedrich.  I was born in the San Francisco Bay Area of California but spent most of my childhood in Arizona.  Both my parents are German immigrants and German was my first language.  I spent most of my summers in Europe visiting relatives and traveling.  It was my trip to Paris that sparked my first love for art. 

 I was inspired by the artists drawing portraits, and felt determined in my heart to learn how to draw like them.  I am very grateful for my High School art teachers that provided me many oppportunities to explore my passion.  Art was a way for me to express myself in ways that words never could and helped me through years of depression.  I went on to study art at the University of Arizona, where I graduated with a degree in Studio Art and Religious Studies.  I spent a few years in ministry and didn't get back into pursuing art until more recently. I love working in different mediums, specifically acrylic paint, oil pastel, and also love creating paper mosaics.   love exploring different mediums to create images that are primarily inspired by my faith and spiritual experiences.
